Description
What begins as an innocent dare spirals into a night of unimaginable terror for three preteen girls. Regan, Carrie, and Liz decide to sneak into a horror movie instead of the cartoon princess film they bought tickets for, seeking thrills and a cool story to share at school. As the theater darkens and the ominous soundtrack begins, their initial excitement turns to dread.
Despite Regan’s confident reassurances, the girls find themselves gripped by fear, especially when strange, unsettling noises start echoing through the theater. The seemingly innocent slurping sound grows louder and more menacing, inching closer with each passing minute. As they realize the theater is slowly emptying of people, leaving only them and an unknown terror, the girls’ adventure turns into a desperate struggle for survival.
“It’s Just a Movie” is a tale that captures the essence of childhood bravery and the fine line between thrill-seeking and genuine horror. Jenny Leidecker masterfully builds tension, leading readers on a suspenseful journey through the eyes of three friends who must face their darkest fears in a place meant for entertainment.
